Christmas 2013.

We did a double Christmas this year in order to spend the holiday with family in the Chicago area, and also enjoy a family Christmas at home.  I made a quick phone call to Santa, and he agreed to come on December 22 instead of the 25th.  I'm sure this is the last year we'll be able to arrange for such an early delivery, but it was pretty awesome.

I don't have any pictures of opening gifts at home.  In fact, I don't have a ton of gift photos at all.  My hands were full with Ellie!

Santa ate his cookies, and Ellie loved opening gifts.  She wanted to play with every single one as soon as she opened it.

We then went off to church and jumped into the car for day one of our drive, and made it to West Virginia.  The following day, we arrived in the Chicago suburbs to 3 degree weather.

Yep.  Three.

Ellie hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Three isn't a weather number in my mind.

We did have a white Christmas and were able to spend lots of time with family, despite the fact that Ellie came down with strep throat.  She was a total trooper and a fantastic traveler.

Christmas Day was a balmy 26 degrees, so we took Ellie out to play in the snow.  The following day, the girls headed downtown to check out the American Girl store and do a little shopping, while the boys did "boy things."  We met up at my brother- and sister-in-law's place in the city and enjoyed some take-out relaxation instead of trying to get all of us to a restaurant with a sleepy toddler.

Unwrapping her bitty baby.

Out shopping.

The boys cooking.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!  We wish we could see everyone each year.

Sorry for the crappy photo quality.  I wasn't as worried about the photos as the time with people!
