Thankful: Surprises and Holiday Time.

I busted out some shape cards last night and got a surprise.

Take the time to go see this 15 second video of Ellie.  For reals.

I'm starting to prepare for Thanksgiving, mostly by pinning recipes and making cranberry sauce.  I love holidays, and since we can't be in New York this year, we'll host Thanksgiving at our house again.

I'm thankful for a little girl who loves crafts, but I am not thankful for the love of the glue stick she just discovered.  A colleague and I were asking the other day what exactly children do to glue sticks, because ours are constantly being used up and destroyed despite supervision of the students using them.

Ellie likes to paint with the glue stick.  We made a turkey.

What are you thankful for today?  What holiday traditions are you preparing?

And more importantly, why did I not record the name of our "Elf on the Shelf" on my blog?  Because we think it's Mortimer.  Or maybe it's Rex.  I really have no clue.  But he's coming to stay in a few weeks and I don't even know his name.
