Winner! And A Musical {Giveaway}

Before we get this next giveaway started, congrats to comment #2, Molly's Gram!  You get a copy of From Grief to Celebration.  Please email me your mailing address/details by 11:00 PM Eastern TIme on July 14 so we can send out your new book.

That giveaway was so fun, we're holding another.  Justin Levinson is a singer/songwriter who happens to work with people with developmental disabilities, and he's an advocate for Special Olympics to boot.

Now, I'm no music critic, but Ellie started signing "more" and smiling when I was previewing a few songs, so I figure that's a good recommendation.  Here's a bit on the album you might win:

Justin Levinson's newest album, THIS SIDE OF ME, THIS SIDE OF YOU was released in January 2012. Describing his latest record as "feel good heartbreak", Justin---with backing band THE VALCOURS---dresses his distress in an eclectic mix of piano, loud guitar, horns, strings, and dreamy harmonies, with contributions from acclaimed singer/songwriters WILL DAILEYGREGORY DOUGLASS, andLIZ LONGLEY.

Since this isn't my normal type of giveaway, I thought it would be a good opportunity to learn something new about the musical tastes of my readers.  To enter, leave a comment on this post and tell me your favorite band, or your child's favorite band, or your favorite as a kid, or the weirdest concert you've seen, or the best concert - just keep it music-related!

FYI, I've seen the odd combination of Reel Big Fish with Cypress Hill, my favorite cover band is Superdiamond, I once went to Nickel Creek and Fall Out Boy at the same venue in the same week, and Ellie likes to rock out to Baby Signing Time, the Glee! station on Pandora, and now Justin Levinson.

The details: Contest will close at 11:00 PM Eastern time on July 15, 2012.  Winner will be notified via email (if the winner leaves an email address) and announced on this blog shortly thereafter.  If the winner doesn't respond, I'll pick a new winner.  Winner will be chosen via random.org.  I'm not responsible for technology issues, massive storms that knock out power in DC, Blogger commenting problems, or oil prices.  Prizes are provided by Ariel Publicity and will be shipped to the winner.  I'm also not responsible for Ariel Publicity, Justin Levinson, or the functionality of your iPod.  Winner must be age 18 or older and reside in the United States.  Rock on, friends, rock on.

  1. Let's see... first concert ever was Debbie Gibson! Many New Kids on the Block, Dave Matthews Band concerts, I have seen James Taylor, Radiohead, Roc the Mic (which included Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Jay-Z, Fabulous and 50 Cent) and I am sure there are many others I am forgetting. I love all types of music and are always looking for some new tunes. You have my email so if I am a winner you know how to get a hold of me :) Love you!

  2. My little guy is all about music. We are fortunate to have a great park system with weekly concerts. He loves the Steel Drum Band, Beetles, Beach Boys, Madona, Veggie Tales, Fresh Beat Band, Imagination Movers, Wiggles, Mercy Me, Third Day, Maroon Five, Steven Curtis Chapman, Jonny Cash, John Denver. Okay, you see what I mean he is not picky unless it is slow and he is tired then he doesn't like it.

  3. Teagan loves music. We always use it to soothe our little Savage. Right now her favorite is what's on the radio and any Gather Vocal Band music/ comedy. I think she thinks all the laughing and clapping is all for her!

  4. I like all kinds of music. Anything except country, that is. I Depeche Mode & The Cure in concert as a high schooler but saw Bon Jovi, too. I currently spend my time listening to my "Pumped Up Kicks" Radio station on Pandora.

My favorite band in high school was INXS, I saw them in concert during my 2nd year of college at the San Diego Sports Arena. The last concert I saw: Foo Fighters at the Pepsi Center in Denver with my husband and two sons (ages 13 and 9, it was their first concert).
